Show BIG SLIDE OF SNOW IN BIG COTTONWOOD . The largest snowsllde ever seen In Big Cottonwood : canyon swept down the mountain side Tuesday, carrying with it all the buildings of the Mountain Moun-tain Chief mine at the head of South Fork. Fortunately only one man, H. C. West, was above ground at the time of the accident. West wascarrled down the canyon several hundred feet, but escaped with his life. The whim house, shaft house, miners' cabin, two horses and all the winter supplies were carried away, amounting to a loss of several thousand thou-sand dollars. A wagon has been sent to the mine and the men will be brought to the city today. |
