Elaborate demonstrations In honor of the Grand Army of the Republic are planned for Memorial day and various j committees are at work In various or- I ganlzatlons, conferring with G. A. R. committees and preparing for the fitting fit-ting observance of the day.; 1 The memorial services for the Grand Army of the Republic. Including Maxwell Max-well corps, McKean corps and- Reynolds Rey-nolds circle, as well 'as the Woman's Relief corps, will be held tonight at the G. A. R. hall. In Federation building. The speakers will be Maj.-Oen. Bowman Bow-man for McKean post and Gen. Rollins for Maxwell post. - An elaborate and appropriate programme of musical and other numbers has also been prepared. At 225 South . West Temple street headquarters have been opened by ths committee on arrangements for observance observ-ance of Memorial day' There an important im-portant meeting will be held tomorrow night, in which committees from the various G. A. R. organisations and the Philippine War Veterans associations will confer Jointly, completing final arrangements ar-rangements for the. day. . The Philippine and Spanish war veterans vet-erans of the city are affiliated with and associated with the G. , A. R. In all plans for the day. - .. - These organizations have accepted an invitation from the concessionhold-er concessionhold-er in Liberty park to have dinner in the park after the Memorial day exercises, exer-cises, and remain the guests of these persons, in. the park for the remainder of the day. Dinner will be served for 400. , - The parade, it is thought, will be the largest ever seen here on a similar occasion. oc-casion. Gov. Cutler and his staff have consented, to participate, mounted. Others participating will be Capt. Bur-bidge Bur-bidge acting chief of the Police department, depart-ment, and a sq.ua d of picked men. all organisations of the G. A. R. and all subsidiary organizations, the Spanish war veterans and veterans of the Philippine Phil-ippine war: the uniform rank of the Odd Fellows: the veteran and regular fire departments; high school cadets; AH Hallows college cadets; all of the local organisations of the Utah National Na-tional Guard, both artillery and Infantry; Infan-try; Col. Lockwood and staff. United States army, and his entire command at Fort Douglas; the Twelfth infantry band; the National Guard band, and All Hallows college band. , ,. ."
