Show DIRIGIBLE" COMPLETES TRIP, C-2 Arrives at Arcadia, Cal., Field on Continental Trip LOS ANGELES, Sept It (By XT. P.) Completing Its transcontinental flight, th dlrlglbl C- arrived at Ross field. Arcadia, at 7:01 o'clock tonight. Th C-l la th first dlrlglbl to mak th ocean to ocean flight. Th crew reported "everything o. k." and went to a belated dinner prepared pre-pared for them by th commander of Rosa field. Th C-l left Newport New. Va. at 12:15 a. m. September 14, with a crew of six men under command of Major H. A. Strauss. Others aboard were Captain O. A. McEnttre, Lieutenants Lieu-tenants 1. L. Hutchinson and O. AN. Anderson, arid Sergeants William K. Fitch and A. D. Albrecht. Ths dlrlglbl I 113 feet long. 14 feet wide, 67 feet high and has a cruising radius of 70s miles. The C-J was originally acheduled to reach Arcadia early today, but wai, delayed over night at Nogalea, ArlwT for repairs to her pontoons which were damaged aa aha attempted to ascend late yesterday. |
