Six I briar pipes, each one autographed by j Marshal J off re, will be given to the I winning debaters In the annual fosen-. sic contest batwren California and Stanford universities. Marshal Joffre learned of the debate during his trip to Berkeley 8unday and said that he would like to make a little gift to the debaters. It was his custom during the war, he explained, to give an autographed auto-graphed pipe to the soldiers whom he decorated.
