In brief, the situation is this, having figuratively been kicked out of office, they demand a physical demonstration. Not much more was to be expected of these commissioners. They were not big enough for the jobs they held and constantly harrassed the administration bv evidences of incompetency. It was natural to expect them to die. as they lived, and so an eleventh hour yelp was not surprising. These men were given a fair opportunity to show what they could do on the state road commission commis-sion and the result was not complimentary. In their .final display of business ability the leasing of the state gravel pits at Mount for $675 a year -they forfeited any just claim to continued employment. Tbe most respectable act of their adminis-. adminis-. tration came when they handed their resignations to Governor Mabey, Now they would undo this, seeking to complicate the situation by giving Utah a state road commission and the old body to cover the same field of operations.
