BINGHAM RADIO SHOP LET ME GO Far from the streets rude bustle From trophies of mart and stage I would fly to the woods low rustle Or to the meadows kindly sage Or to dream IS of old by the river And to love the dream always. Far from the showy seeming Of a life that is half a lie Of the faces lined with scheming In the throng that hurries by. Away from the discontented The giddy whose only love is swing Who flit around like a butterfly Some new thrill to sing. I feel no prido, but pity For the life that they endure There is nothing sweet in the city But the patient lives of the poor, The childish minds are choked with weeds The daughter's heart grown wil- - ful And the Mother's heart which bleed. O the wasted hours of life That have drifted by O the good that might have been Is lost, without a sigh Love, that might have someone saved By a single word, The word that was never spoken Perished unheard.
