Show Utah Gains National Recognition Geo. H. Lowe. President Utah Safety Coucil, Congratulates Con-gratulates Mrs. Geo. P. Parker, Chairman Home . Division, On National Award. The Executive Board of the National Na-tional Safety council announced today that the home safety division of the Utah Safety council has been awarded the "Grand Award Certificate" for the greatest achievement achieve-ment in home safety by anv state in the country for the yea 1946. The award made to Utah is recognition recog-nition of the outstanding efforts of the manv organizations cooperating cooperat-ing with the home safctv division. The regional director of the National Na-tional Safety council will make the award to Governor Herbert B Maw at a banquet to he held at the Hotel Utah the evening of Monday, January Janu-ary 28th. The home safety division, of which Mrs. George P. Parker is chairman, sponsored a "HOME SAFETY WEEK." April 8th to 14th. IMS, Assisting the division in developing activities throughout the state for Hume Sifetv cck, which was proclaimed bv Governor Maw, were prominent church organizations, or-ganizations, public service clubs, cultural groups, business firms, utility companies visiting nurses and child welfare groups. The elements considered bv the judges and upon which the award was made were: planning and procedure, pro-cedure, soundness of program, committee com-mittee and membership cooperation, public interest, outside agencv cooperation co-operation and benefit to the community. com-munity. Manv leaders of religious groups, civic and cultural clubs served on the committee and their organizations organiza-tions cooperated fullv in the program pro-gram It is estimated that approximately approxi-mately l.fiOO such groups arranged home safety discussions sometime prior to or during Home Safctv Week at meetings within their respective re-spective organizations. Large committees com-mittees were organized in four of our major cities to intensify the prnn-r;im within such ateas. The home safety division in cooperation co-operation with its manv .-lffilifted organizations is continually plnn-ning plnn-ning programs and activities through ut the state to further home safety with the ultimate objective ob-jective of reducing the rate of acfilei)t! orpnrHng in the home. |
