Show Local Happenings - - . . mm I ! mm mm mm Bingham volunteer firemen answered an-swered an alarm Wednesday afternoon, af-ternoon, when a car belonging to E. R. Draper caught on fire in front of No. 1 Fire hall. Cause of the fire was set at a broken exhaust ex-haust pipe under the gasoline tank causing the burning of the rear seat, upholstery and paint and the blowing out of a rear tire- Cost of the damage is yet unknown. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Morley and daughters, Darlene and Maurine, returned Sunday evening from a five weeks' tour of the east. Their trip took them to Chicago, and while at Detroit they spent a day at the Ford plant at Dearborn, Greenfield Village, Menlo park and Edison museum. From there they went to Niagara Falls, Canada Can-ada and also spent some time in Mi.u York While in Pennsylvania they visited with Mr. Morley's father, Horace Morley and his sister, Mrs. Harold Miller at Sheffield; his mother, Mrs. LaVern Spicer at Saybrook and his brother and wife, Mr and Mrs. Edgar Morley at Clarendon. While at Sheffield they also toured a glass factory. They also visited with Mrs. J.B. Myers, formerly of Bingham, at Erie, Pa. Members of the 20-year club of Bingham Volunteer fire departments de-partments No. 1 and No. 2 were guests Saturday evening of Art Sorenson at Evanston, Wyo. Mr. Sorenson is a member of the 20-year 20-year club. Members of the club attending were C. I. Stillman, Ralph Evans left Monday by plane to join Mrs. Evans at Caldwell, Cald-well, Ida., for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs- Harold Chesler and children, Norman and Teddy, Ted-dy, plan to leave Sunday to spend 10 days at Las Vegas, Nev. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Carpenter is their son, Fritz J. Carpenter and children of Fresno, Calif. They will visit here for two weeks. Recent guests at the Carpenter home were Mrs. Carpenter's sisters, Mrs. Willard Anderson of Richfield; Mrs. Maurice Mau-rice Bee of Tooele; Mrs. Will Carpenter and Mrs. Earl Olsen of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Bert Nebeker of Culver City, Calif. Mr- and Mrs. Jack Perry and children of Vancouver, Wash., spent last Friday with Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Rawlings. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston and daughters. Roberta and Re- Arthur Cook, Eugene Jenkins, Cyrus Anderson, Roy Nelson, T A. Masters, Bert Hocking, John T. West and Chief Mel Christoph-erson. Christoph-erson. Also present was Earl T. James. George T. (Bud) Parkinson Parkin-son of Evanston joined the group. They enjoyed a tour of the city. Fred Dunn and son Jack of , Hollywood, Calif, visited with friends in Bingham Wednesday evening. H. Christensen ol Grace, Idaho. nee, returned last Friday from a three-day visit at Price and at Wellington with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rasmussen. Lucille Doyle arrived home Monday by plane from New York City where she has been visiting friends and relatives for the past four months. Mrs- Doyle, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Waters and sister, Flora Jean, are leaving Sunday for a month's vacation in Canada, British Columbia Col-umbia and Seattle, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Joseph left Tuesday for their home in Long Beach, Calif, following a 10-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Nerdin. Mrs. Joseph is a sister of Mrs- Nerdin. Most Rev. Duane G- Hunt, bishop of the Salt Lake catholic diocese, accompanied by his sister sis-ter and brother-in-law, of Florida spent Wednesday at Bingham with Rev. D. E. Leahy. Mrs. Fred Webb of Provo is visiting here a few days with her son, Rev. D. E. Leahy. |
