Show NEED FOR MEN IS STRESSED BY LOCAL MINE The National Tunnel & Mines j company is swinging over to an intensive development program at present in order to replenish ore reserves that wen- drastically lowered during the war period. This means that overhead costs are being trimmed down to help meet added development ex pense. During the war period mines throughout the country threw i normal schedules out the window and produced metal for all they I were worth. All men were put I on production and the problem of finding new ore was put off until after the war could be won. Now that the sails have been trimmed "The Tunnel" is hiring all of the contract miners that apply in order that new develop ment work may be pushed to the limit. To date, chances of finding find-ing substantial amounts of new ore are excellent and ttie man agement is very encouraged. The present problem is solely one of securing sufficient machine men to push the new work. |
