Show Local Happenings a m m m mm mm mm There will be no Lions club meeting next Tuesday, according accord-ing to President Francis A. Miller. Faye Apostol, Olga Furgis and Helen Chipian enrolled at LDS Business college last week. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Holland of Los Angeles and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bennett of American Fork visited with friends in Bingham Canyon Tuesday afternoon. Mr, Holland is a former resident of Highland Boy and is now employed em-ployed as a welder in an aircraft factory in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust and family moved to Copperton at 300 State highway the forepart of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brisk and family have moved into the house at 26 Carr Fork. Young Jerry Dean left Wednesday with an aunt, Mrs. Roy Kresean to visit in Spring City with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Covert. Mrs. Robert Detmers visited over the week-end with Mrs. Charlotte Rasmussen. The Detmers' Det-mers' home at Boulder City, Nev., has been leased. She and the children plan to live in Burley, Ida., with her mother, Mrs. Retta Payne, until he finishes his training train-ing in the air corps. Now at a camp in Wisconsin, he enlisted last January and took his initial training in Texas. Mrs. A. H. Archibald of Garland Gar-land left Friday to return home after visiting several days with Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Hutch-ings. Hutch-ings. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Archibald, Archi-bald, who were guests several days at the Hutchings home, left Tuesday for Washington, D. C, where he will attend educational conferences as a representative of the Boxelder teachers. Mr. Archibald is Mrs. Hutchings' brother. Mrs. Max Brisk left Tuesday to visit indefinitely in Denver with a sister, Mrs. Marie A. Calvert. Cal-vert. Mrs. John E. Greene and Cheryl and Mrs. W. D. Kidd left for Poulsbo, Wash., Wednesday. Mrs. John W. Holmes and daughter, dau-ghter, June, left June 7 to make their home in El Monte, Calif., with Mrs. Holmes' brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Merriken. Adolph Cole, who underwent a successful eye operation recently, recent-ly, was released from St. Mark's hospital June 7. Agnes Mattson, a former University Uni-versity of Utah student, is working work-ing at vTooele at the ordnance depot. v Bingham Boy Scouts, troop 136, went to Saratoga Saturday night to camp until Monday. Enjoying En-joying fishing and swimming were the following Scouts: Billy and J. D. Boren, Paul Green, Chick and Ren Adderley, Paul Madsen, Ralph Siddoway, Glen Lambson, Billy Rager, Ned Miller, Mill-er, Alan Lyon, Boyd Householder, Household-er, Donald Throckmorton, Douglas Doug-las Morris, Jimmy Mathis, Howard How-ard Ottosen, Donald Andreason, Farrell Jarred, Jay Sorenson, Billy and Jackie Densley. With the boys all the time was Leonard Leon-ard L. Miller. Varcil Pollock and Jack Householder visited them. R. T. 3C J. C. Bates, who has been training at Logan, left Wednesday Wed-nesday morning to report at Treasure Island. Mrs. Bates is with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spendlove. P.M. 2 C Lillian Smith of San Francisco left Sunday after a six-day six-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. Philip Pino and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith.
