Show XMAS LIGHTING WINNERS TOLD Results of the Christmas lighting light-ing contest sponsored by the junior ju-nior chamber of commerce for homes in Bingham, Copperton, Copperfield, Highland and Lead Mine were made known by judges jud-ges who toured the district Christmas Eve. First prize of $7-50 went to Harvey L. Goff for three lighted light-ed holiday designs filling front porch arches of his home at Copperton: Cop-perton: a Merry Christmas, over a poinsettia; Happy New Year over the Star of Bethlehem; and a fireplace in front of which were hung stockings and a clock on the mantle as center design. Mr. Goff was first place winner of the contest in 1940. Second place prize of $5.00 went to E. E. Longfellow for a Christmas tree with reindeer a-round a-round it on the front lawn. Third, place prize of $2.50 went to William D. Cook for reindeer and a sleigh on the roof. Honorable mention went to James F. Barkle, Newell Hof-heins, Hof-heins, Stephen Pickering, Alma Mantle, John J. Creedon, Eugene Chandler, C. W. Adderley, Rex T. Tripp, Ross Hocking, Clarence Camp, Harold Clough and Ray Olsen. Judges were Parker Gray, chairman; Chris T. Praggastls and William Krueger. This committee com-mittee wishes to extend their appreciation ap-preciation of the cooperation and effort put forth by citizens of Bingham district in decorating their homes and thus increasing the Christmas spirit in every community in this section. |
