Show JAYCEES PLAN TO ATTEND ANNUAL WAR CONFERENCE Plans for participation in the Utah State junior chamber of commerce 1943 War Activities conference to be held in Salt Lake City Sept. 4, 5 and 6 were made by Bingham Canyon Jay-cees Jay-cees at their regular meeting Monday evening. The following from Bingham will be in attendance at the annual an-nual affair: Howard Buchman, John Adamek, Bruce Johnston, Eddie Arata, Joe Dorazio, Harold Barton, John Bolic, Chris T. Praggastis, Ken Shulsen, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott W. Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Joel P. Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo A. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jimas, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. Le-land Le-land G. Burress. A square dance team from Bingham will compete against teams from Tooele, Ogden, Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Brigham City, Salt Lake City and Logan at an Old-Time dance Saturday evening, Sept. 4 at the Newhouse hotel as part of the program for the War Activities Activi-ties Conference. The following couples compose the Bingham entry: Mr. and Mrs. Elmo A. Nelson, Nel-son, Mr. and Mrs. Joel P. Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. Elliott W. Evans. Dance instructor is Miss Virginia Harris. After considerable discussion Monday evening, Bingham Jay-cees Jay-cees voted not to enter any projects pro-jects in this year's award competition com-petition at the state convention. At Monday's meeting, Leland G. Burress reported on plans that have been made for Pre-Conven-tion luncheon to be held in Bingham Bing-ham Saturday, Sept. 4. The following fol-lowing program is scheduled: tour of Utah Copper mine at 11 a.m. luncheon at Bingham Club at 12 noon; trip through National Tunnel and Mines Co. mine at 1:30 p.m. Guests of Bingham Jay-cees Jay-cees for this occasion will be Mearns Gates, national vice president pre-sident of Pomeroy, Wash.; Jack Hufford, national vice president, Sheridan, Wyo.; Ray Richards, Utah state president, Springville; Mark Lindberg, national director direc-tor from Utah, Tooele; C. J. "Bill" Ketchum, president Salt Lake City Jaycees; Nelson W. Aldrich, former national Jaycce vice president, pre-sident, Salt Lake City. Following the Pre-Convontion affair guests and Bingham Jaycees Jay-cees will leave for Salt Lake City to attend the War Activities Conference. |
