S church official and for many years an outstanding outstanding outstanding out out- standing Utah jurist and industrialist industrial Industrial- 1st died Wednesday morning in Los Angeles following a stroke He was l 7 75 years old Mr had resided in Los Angeles nearly ten years A native of ot Germany Mr J Ro Ro- Ro- Ro lapp came to Utah a n. youthful convert convert con con- II vert to the church and rose to a commanding position in the bar and andin andin in industry of the state Ho was prominent in more than a score of I enterprises notably the sugar in industry industry in in- in which ho was known na na- na- na Under a presidential appointment he was a justice of oC tho the territorial supreme court and was one of ot the th first district judges when Utah attained attained at at- tamed statehood Mr was born March 22 1860 at Flensburg Germany a son of ot Fritz and Anna Thiesen He became a member of ot the church at Copenhagen in 1877 1577 and a year ear later filled a mission in England Presiding over a group of Immigrants immigrants grants he left his homeland for Utah in 1880 Arriving in Salt Lake City June 21 of that year Mr was WM Continued d on Pa Pare e Two Column One t. t It D.
