Statewide Recreation Program Planned Under W P A in Idaho CALDWELL Idaho March 4 AP Loren AP-Loren Loren H. H J Basler asler director of ot physical education and head football coach at the College of Idaho here has been loaned to the Idaho state department of education to become director of a wide state-wide recreational project officials of the college announced d here today Easier Basler will continue his services to the college in an advisory ca- ca for the next few months after which he will return to his present post as full fun time timo director the announcement announcement announcement an an- said Leo F. F Hood state director of ot the works progress administration has approved Basler's appointment as the director of the recreational project tho the announcement stated The aim of the project which Basler will wUl head will be he said to give every individual in Idaho an opportunity to enga e in some form of wholesome recreational activity to coordinate and use uso all aU existing equipment to urge communities to secure additional facilities and to train and release for community use the finest leadership we can se select select se- se lect from existing relief rolls roUs The idea of ot the project ho explain explained ex ex- plain ed is to put a year round recreational program into the vanous varIous various vari van ous communities of ot the state both for those communities which have never had a supervised r recreational program and also to enlarge and augment the existing activity programs programs programs pro pro- grams in communities where the they are arc already in operation Easier Basler will vill begin immediately to contact the various communities asto as asto to their needs and desires for recreational leadership and the organization I tion Uon of ot faculties for tor training the sup supervisors so that by the middle of April or the first of ot May the outdoor outdoor outdoor out out- door activities can cnn be in full swing Temporary offices will be with the state department of education at the statehouse in Boise Bols
