L Ickes peremptorily fired two of his state officials One of the officials informed by telegrams telegrams telegrams tele tele- grams of his dismissal today was Nets Nels G. G Krechel lieutenant governor of Iowa who also has been serving as LS executive secretary of the public works advisory board in that state Ickes Ickes' office would go no further today than to say it was not yet ready to tomake make any my charges against Mr It was pointed out that as a state officer was ineligible ble to hold a federal post also but this was not the fundamental reason for his abrupt discharge officials said The other discharged official was Harry S. S Berl Berry P W WA A state engineer for Tennessee who is reported to have sent a letter to all civic bodies in Tennessee Ten Ten- advising them congress congress will exempt exempt ex empt public works fund borrowers from ever paying back the money
