Show Dokas of Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith spent the Fourth of July at the rodeo at Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Moss and family are spending a few days with Mr. Moss' parents at Woodruff. Wood-ruff. Joe Susaeta and family of Bingham were visitors here Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yengich, Mr. and Mrs. Arko and family and Gene Lujan spent the Fourth picnicking at Provo and American Amer-ican Fork canyon. Virginia Jeffcott, a nurses training student at the University Univer-sity of Utah, spent the week-end with her father. The Fourth of July float sponsored spon-sored by the Community House was decorated with red, white and blue pompoms. Each side of the float had an open Bible with the Scripture "Seek Peace and Pursue It" written upon it. The flag bearers, Vernon Jeffcott and Gilbert Lucero carried the American Am-erican and Christian flags. The committees for the crowning crown-ing of the queens and princess at Butterfield canyon included: initiation Ann Pechina, Alma Pazell and Olga Chanak; crowning crown-ing Isabel Abrew, Helen Austin Aus-tin and Josephine Rubalcava. Ann Pechina was crowned the queen for the Queen Esther group. Alma Pazell as queen of the Questers and Joyce Antell j as the princess of the Home Guard group. All enjoyed a picnic pic-nic supper and a worshiD service led by Alma Pazell. The group left the Community House Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon in Ernest Prig-more's Prig-more's truck. Mrs. Marie Johnson, formerly of Highland Boy and a nurse at Bingham hospital, underwent a major operation recently and is doing fine. Ann Gerbich and Mildred Mu-har Mu-har are supervising playground work five evenings of the week. The average daily attendance of young people, adults and children child-ren is 45. Tfce program includes games for primary and grade school children and volley ball, baseball and outdoor games for young people and adults. 'HIGHLAND BOY.' Anna Marie Muhar Visitors July 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bullock included Cpl. Weldon Herriman and Mrs. Herriman of Joplin, Mo. Cpl. Herriman recently came home from 18 months overseas duty. Dinner guests July 3 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bullock were Mr. and Mrs. George Geo-rge Bullock, Mrs. Patricia Williams Wil-liams and daughter, Bruce Durn-ford Durn-ford and Andrew McMulley, all of Magna, and Frank Farr of Bingham. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Mayne and children, Keith and Shirley, of Copperton, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brim-hall Brim-hall Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Warren M. Woodward Wood-ward and family and Betty Brim-hall Brim-hall left Saturday morning for a week's vacation in California. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brimhall spent the Fourth of July in Salt Lake City. Mary Bolic came home Sunday Sun-day from a five weeks' vacation in New York, Aberdeen, Md., Baltimore, Philadelphia and Chicago. Chi-cago. She stent two weeks in Chicago. People do not seem to be any more war conscious or patriotic in the east or midwest than at home, Mary said, and the biggest thrill of all was the statue sta-tue of liberty and a tour of Manhattan Man-hattan island. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Add and son, George, spent the Fourth of July at American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Amsden returned re-turned Saturday from a two-weeks' two-weeks' business trip to the coast main stops in California and Washington. Mrs. Harold R. Barton and children, Keith, Marilyn, Ronnie Joe and Nancy Lorraine, left Friday for Arco, Ida., where they will be guests of Mrs. Barton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Braithwaite for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Sayatovich, daughter "Joan; Mr. and Mrs. William Atwood of Salt Lake City and daughter, Darlene; Mrs. Pete Badovinatz of Murray were guests of Mrs. George Balich Monday evening. Cpl. and Mrs. Tom Cameron returned yesterday following a five-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. Domenic Perrelli-of Murray. The following Highland Boy people spent the Fourth of July at Liberty park; Annie Gerbich and her mother. Mrs. Steffie 1 Gerbich; Mrs. Mary Melich, Mrs Mary Pazell, Mrs. Mike Mika and family, Mrs. Mary Pino; Matt, Eva, Lucille, Bill Pazell; Mr. and Mrs. Monty Lasher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brimhall and Ann and Mildred Muhar. Ann Pechina, Alma Pazell, Ruby Ru-by Yengich and John King went to First Control for their Fourth of July picnic. Pfc Henry Etchemandy of Elko, El-ko, Nev., who served seven months at Guadalcanal and spent some time with Cpl. Joe Osoro, visited two days of his frulough with Mr. and Mrs. George Koso-vich Koso-vich and Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Osoro. Mrs. Joe Scorzato returned Monday from Bingham hospital. Their Fourth of July visitors included in-cluded Angelo Scussel of Ely, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gobis of West Jordan; George Zupan of Sandy and Mr. and Mrs. Nick |
