W Swift 36 ol of East Fourth South street Mr Swift di died d in the emergency hospital an hour hour- alter after he hc was struck by an automobile driven by Charles Loren Knox 27 27 of ol East Seventh South street as he walked across the north side ol ot Fourth South street at Fifth East street Monday night Mr Swift suffered a fractured skull and andl anda andla a broken right wrist i Mr Knox told police he was driving north when he saw Mr Swift in the center of ol the street The pedestrian ran eastward to avoid two southbound cars and stepped in front of the Knox machine Mr Knox swung his car carto carto carto to the right but as he did so Mr Swift also dashed to the right and was struck by the left front fender lender of ot the skidding automobile James Cornish of ol Bountiful who witnessed the accident confirmed Mr Knox's story Mr Knox was not detained by po po- lice ice A report of the accident was prepared for lor the county attorney Tuesday Mr Swift was born in Salt Lake August 10 1895 He is survived by his mother Mrs Sarah Swift and two sisters Mrs T.
