| Show WOMAN TO APPEAL DRIVING FINE I Objecting to the fine ine Imposed upon her late Monday after she pleaded guilty to drunken driving Mrs Helen Beebe 23 of Constitution Con Con- building filed med notice of appeal appeal ap ap- ap peal to Third district court Tuesday Judge Nephi Jensen imposed the fine which is the maximum police pollee court sentence after rebuking the defendant Mrs Beebe was arrested November 30 after her car is alleged to have collided with a taxicab and to have overturned it at Main and South Temple streets She told police that she had been driving the car and last Saturday she pleaded guilty to drunk drunken n driving charges in police court When she appeared for sentence Monday however Mrs Mrs- Beebe denied that she was the driver and told the court that W. W J. J Hendrickson 22 Fort Douglas soldier had been driving driving driving ing the car At an informal hearing ordered by Judge Jensen Private Hendrickson maintained that he was too drunk to remember what happened that night Ray G G. Jensen West Sixth South street driver of the taxicab which was overturned by the Beebe car told the jud judge e that Mrs Beebe was tit at the steering wheel when he first saw the car Either you lied when you ou told the officers you were were the driver or you have falsified in court so I am in no mood for leniency Judge Jensen said before imposing sentence Mrs Beebe was released on bond pending appeal |
