Tho remarkable re-markable preservation of the body of a Catholic priest is attracting attention atten-tion in Newark. Rev. Father Wen-delin, Wen-delin, mayor of tbe Benedictine Order, died at Cape May Point August 27, I&I, from the effects of Injuries received in it fail from bis carriage. The body was taken to Newark and burled, with those of other Benedictine prletts, In SL Mary's cemtlerv. It was disinterred tome days ago to be taken to Wilmington, Wil-mington, .Delaware, for final burial. Undertaker George Bruckner, who took charge of the body, was astonished aston-ished to find that from tbejiboulders lo tbe knees it was petrified nnd in perfect condition. The flesh had all disappeared from the head and below be-low the Lneei. The brain was intact and S3 hard as stone. Hundreds Cf people have vlilted Bruckner's morgue to see the body. On Tuesday the body was dollied in new purplo vestments, encased In a handsome oak casket and taken to the home of the Benedictine Order, at No. 523 High Street, where It lay in state until this morning, when it was taken to Wilmington.
