The Xordcu band snd an excellent choir discoursed dis-coursed good music during tho evening. The building was filled to overflow over-flow ing with an enthusiastic audience. audi-ence. There were present, besides, the ofllccrs of Uie club and a number of prominent speakers. In a few well chosen word?, appropriate ap-propriate to the occasion, C. M. Xielsoti, the president of the club, introduced Delegate Caine who was received with cheers. Mr. Caine expressed hlimclf as being extremely pleased to see the interest that had been taken by the Scandinavian club in acquainting themelvcs with American politics and the good result) accomplished by them. Ihy -were Americans of their own choice and in the recent election, elec-tion, had demonstrated, that they vtereuol in favor of disfranchisement disfranchise-ment but that liberty and the exercise exer-cise of frrcmeu's tights were dear to their hearts. At the close of Sir. Caine's speech, Vice-President Carliuist proposed thrco cheers for the "Delegate elect, to n'uich the audience responded with n will. J. II. Paul was the next speaker. Ue said in tho recent election a great success hai been achieved. The members of the Scandinavian Club had contributed much to bring about the brilliant victory that had been gained.
