F Bowman said Monday Mon day It is important that the details of the tho project be settled now as all must be Included In the call for the tho election and tile the call must be advertised adver adver- Used for 23 days before the election is held The parts of the project still awaiting await await- lag ing the sanction of the Joint water committee are the extension of the tho water main west on Filth Fifth South street to Second West Vest street and north on Second West to Eighth North street at a cost of a definite location of two equalizing reservoirs and the repair of the tho Sunnyside reservoir The tentative locations of the two storage basins have been set at the head of Twenty seventh South street and near the mouth of City Creek canyon Utah statutes require that the estimated costs of every item in inthe inthe the project be Included in the call for forthe the tho bond election SITUATION SERIOUS The seriousness of the city's water situation was wa-s pointed out Monday by H. H K Burton superintendent of waterworks On May 15 Mr Burton said the tho storage figure for culinary water was wag 2014 acre feet It had been previously pre estimated in March that the combined storage on that date would be 2290 acre feet The amount o ot water In the reservoirs is falling of oil continually he pointed out because of lack of rainfall It has been estimated he said tha that the storage in Lake Mary at Thigh ton will reach acre feet and that Twin lakes will reach acre feet However at present Lake Mary contains con con- talus acre feet and Twin lakes acre feet arId and there thero is little ho hope that the estimated figure will b reached 45 |
