H Cook 61 manager of ot the Salt lt Lake municipal baths died at a local hospital about p pi m. m Saturday Saturday Sat Sat- of oC a a. paralytic tlc stroke suffered Friday at it the baths I BORN IN CONNECTICUT Mr Cook was born in Meriden Conn March 4 4 1867 a 9 son of ot Albert and Julia JuJIa Cook He obtained his early schooling there and arid as he grew STew to manhood entered the electrical busi bust ness He was engaged in business in Meriden and then moved to New NewYork NewYork York where he remained for tor several years From there he went to San Francisco where he worked as an electrician and was there at the time of oC the earthquake and fire I phe During the Red Cross relief work there he was placed in charge Shortly after he removed to Salt Lake and had been beena a resident here for 22 ears He was engaged In the electrical dee elec l' l business for many years and was the founder of the United Electric Electric Electrio Elec Elec- trio company He was later named manager of or the old Bonneville baseball baseball base base- b ball park From that position he be became became became be- be came custodian of or the state capitol under the late Governor Simon Barn Bam berger Soon after the municipal baths opened he was was made macic manager and held that position until the time of oC his his death 1 MEMBER IE l OF LODGES Mr C Cook k was was' wasa a member of the Elks lodge the Woodmen of ot the World and and while while-In while In New York was a member member member mem mem- ber of ot Tammany hall ball H He was as an active ac ne acI I tive Uve Catholic and an active mem member r I of or the Democratic part party He was a candidate for Salt Lake county commissioner commissioner com corn missioner at one time Last December Mr Cook was I named first vice Ice president of the National National National Na Na- Association of lot Parks and Beaches at the annual convention hi in Chicago o. o Mr Cook Is survived cd by his widow Mrs Bridget E.
