Show WPB REGULATES DAIRYBUSINESS First government general order or-der attempting regulation of the dairy business, issued recently as War Production Board order No. 11, affects all dairies and milk consumers and is of general public pub-lic interest. Glen Hogan, owner of Hogan dairy,' explains the order or-der "in this manner: . (1) Sale of pints of milk' is prohibited. pro-hibited. Milk in small quantities can be sold only by resale, as at restaurants. - ,, (2) No extra orders or (order changes will be . allowed. Milk will bfr delivered only on regular regu-lar standing orders. If a' customer custom-er wishes to change a regular order, or-der, it must be done 24 hqurs in advance, so that the dairy will not have any return on each day's delivery. - -3 The dairy must' have 'exactly 'ex-actly enough milk for each day's delivery, with none left over to return to the dairy. (4) A bottle deposit of at least lc will be required at the homes as well as .in the stores. In the case of Bingham the charge will be 5c. It is also understood that the payment of the 5c deposit is not a sale of the container, but a deposit de-posit to guarantee return of tle same. (5) Stores and restaurants and all other milk handlers, must order or-der their milk supply the day previous to the1 date of the delivery. de-livery. Mr. Hogan also states that while the order prohibits sale of a pint of milk per day, for the present the dairy will leave a quart every other day for those requiring regularly a pint a day. Later the practice of leaving a quart every other day may be specifically prohibited by the WPB. O |
