Show Terrible Coatlazralloa. Peteksburo, Ind., Nov. 7. A terrible coutUgratlon occurred at Wlnsiow, Pike Couuty, this morning. morn-ing. The whole town was wljied out of existence. The houses were all frame structures, and tho fire spread with such rapidity that all efforts of tbo people to extinguish it proved unavailing. Not a house is left standing, ani four huudrtd persons per-sons are left homeless. There Is no fire detriment, and no provision was made fir the sudden coming of such a calamity. How the fire orlglnstedisnotascertalned, but it is supposed to have been caused by a defective flue. There will be much suffering among the people. |
