Show Missionary Sends Letter of Appreciation for Herald , The following letter of appreciation ap-preciation for the Springville Herald was received this week from Elder Joe Salisbury, who is on a mission in Michigan. The paper goes to Joe, and to all other young men and women wo-men serving in the mission field, complimentary; providing provid-ing their families are subscribers sub-scribers and send the address of the missionary in to the Herald office. The letter follows fol-lows : The Springville Herald Springville, Utah. Dear Friends: ( ' Thank you so much for sending send-ing The Herald to me each week. It has been a great source of pleasure and an indispensable contact with my home town, particularly par-ticularly since my family moved to Salt Lake City. It is important to keep up on the "vital statistics," statis-tics," but I hope that I will not be held responsible for remembering remember-ing the births, deaths, marriages, etc., in the families of my dear friends in Springville. I have been released as mission secretary and Sunday School supervisor su-pervisor and will complete my time in the field here in Saginaw. It is marvelous to return to real missionary work again and be ' ' stimulated by the many challenges that it brings each day. There is much to be done and the 180 missionaries mis-sionaries in these six states are barely scratching the surface. The greatest joy one can know is to find someone who will receive and be helped by the gospel message. A source of enjoyment and inspiration in-spiration during my ten months at mission headquarters was the privilege of living with President Creed Haymond and traveling with him to meet with organizations and missionaries over the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Illin-ois, Iowa and Wisconsin. Being natives of Springville, he and I spent many hours recalling the places and personalities in our lives there. It was more than amusing to see him study the antique an-tique pictures that have appeared each week in The Springville Herald. Her-ald. He could often recognize each person in the pictures, and. usually usual-ly had some story to tell about them. President Haymond is a continual contin-ual inspiration to every missionary mission-ary and member of the church in this mission, and will long influence influ-ence our lives for good. Springville Spring-ville should be very proud of him. |
