Show PRIORITY GIVEN TO UTAH GUARD department's priority system, an increase of modern equipment will I soon be shipped to the Utah Na-I Na-I tional Guard. This information was sent to Brig. Gen. J. Wallace West, Utah adjutant general, by Maj. Gen. Butler S. Miltonberger, m chief of the National Guard bureau 1 at Washington, D. C. I Combat vehicles needed for train- ing are now being assembled with each unit slated to receive at least I one quarter of it's total allowance immediately, Gen. West said. I For maintenance of this equipment, equip-ment, a state pool is to be established estab-lished and members of the Nation-g Nation-g al guard with various technical I skills will be employed in a full-3 full-3 time civilian capacity. Gen. West said he believes reor- ganization of Utah's National ! Guard should be greatly aided by j the new policy of the War Dept. j of retaining supplies already located locat-ed at military establishments to j meet immediate needs. A complete report on the pres-I pres-I ent condition of facilities within I 016 state available for National Guard use is now being prepared by Gen. West, and a list of additional addi-tional facilities required, along with plans for full development of the state unit, will be submitted to Washington to be included in the overall planning for the new National Na-tional Guard. |
