Show Round-n 'About Town . One of the finest projects we heard of this week began in Brook side when a group of public-spirited women began plans for a beau-tification beau-tification movement. The plans include planting of flowering elms along the driveways of the subdivision. sub-division. No one would dispute the fact that this would be one of the beauty spots of the city or even the county or state, once all those elm trees began blossoming. And back to Main street No one should mistake the pedestrian lanes now, since they've taken on a new coat of not green but bright yellow. It helps a lot. After Af-ter all, they were getting dim and the chief of police doesn't want anyone to have an excuse for jaywalking jay-walking on Main street. If any of you boys, or grownups grown-ups for that matter, are short a bicycle, better inquire at the City Hall. Chief H. M. Weight and the rest of the police force can't ride all of them at once and if the owners own-ers don't come to claim them pretty pret-ty soon, there's going to be an auction in town. The high school kids say they're going to keep on until they get the tennis courts fixed up. More power pow-er to you, kids! m m m Have you noticed the new decorations deco-rations on Main street and Fourth South? If you have and don't know what they're there for, or if you haven't, they're there to help celebrate the opening of Springville's Spring-ville's major Centennial event this week. More than five miles of wire hook up the instruments which collect test data on a new twin-I twin-I engined transport plane. |
