Show INFORMATION BOXES TO AID TOURISTS The Utah State Department of Publicity and Industrial Development Develop-ment today finished placing some 400 tourist information boxes in auto courts, hotel lobbies and stopping stop-ping points on U. S. Highways 89 and 91. The boxes contain several slots which hold maps, folders of scenic attractions, literature on the state and other printed matter which points out for tourists things to do and places to see. Rulon S. Howells, commissioner of publicity, explained that the chief purpose of the tourist boxes is to "increase the stay of tourists in Utah by offering, them something some-thing to do." The publicity department also left two color books at each court to let tourists examine. The books are filled with beautiful color pictures pic-tures of scenic attractions in the state. Blanks are also furnished the tourists to be filled out if they desire the books mailed to their home. |
