Show STATE FAIR WILL BE BIG EVENT I PLANS INDICATE j The 1948 Utah state fair will J be the biggest ever, acocrding to plans disclosed Saturday by Sheldon R. Brewster, secretary-j secretary-j manager. This year's show, set , for Sept. 18-25, will feature more ! exhibits of all types than ever, Mr. Brewster said. There will be record entries in the farm machinery, livestock, poultry, pigeon, and industrial divisions, di-visions, he said, adding that the list of individual exhibits also was growing daily. Mr. Brewster returned this week from California where he succeeded in booking a complete Hollywood review for the exposition. exposi-tion. Premium list for this year's fair is now at the printer's and will be mailed to exhibitors within a few days, the official said. Theme of the 1948 show will be futuristic, Mr Brewster announced. Entries are now being accepted for the Miss Utah contest, Mr. Brewster said. All Utah girls between be-tween 18 and 27 who have never been married are eligible, he said. The winner, who will be selected on governor's night at the fair will represent the state at the 1949 Atlantic City national contest. Present Miss Utah, Marilyn Robinson Rob-inson of Ogden, will compete in this year's national contest next month at Atlantic City, -the official of-ficial said. |
