Show W Lady Lions Hear Fnie Program At First Meet The Springville Lady Lions met last Thursday evening at Keeleys in Provo at the first regular meeting meet-ing since their organization. Dr. Mary King, president, opened open-ed the meeting and introduced the new officers. The program theme, "Shining Victory," was presented by Mrs. Dorothy Hazel, chairman, assisted by Mrs. Ge-nieve Ge-nieve Mendenhall and Mrs. Coe Straw. Mrs. Mendenhall welcomed the guests and Lady Lions present. Lt. Don Bird gave the pledge to the flag, followed by the opening prayer by Mrs. Straw. Glen Law entertained with rendition of patriotic pa-triotic numbers on the piano. A tribute to the new officers was given by Mrs. Hazel. Golden Hansen Han-sen then gave a vocol solo, and Ted Davis and Carl Crandall gave instrumental duets, accompanied by Robert Thorn. After another piano selection by Glen Law, Lt. Bird gave an interesting account of his experiences overseas. To conclude the program, Mr. Hansen Han-sen sang, "God Bless America." Dr. Mary King conducted a short business meeting during TihiMi nVip nnnnnnced the Scring- ville Lions had made a gift of ?75 to the Lady Lions, which was received re-ceived with much enthusiasm. The banquet hall was beautifully beauti-fully decorated for the meeting by Mrs. Shirley M. Child, with arrangements ar-rangements of floral bouquets of red, white and blue with miniature minia-ture tanks, planes and guns in a very original and striking manner. Mrs. Lenore W. Kelly has gone to Cleveland, Ohio, where she Is playing softball in the national tournament with the Shamrocks of Salt Lake City. She will be gone about two weeks. , Mrs. C. H. Thorstensen and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Charles C. Thorstensen of Ogden, visited Sunday with Mrs. D. A. Crandall in this city. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Eddington recently returned from Clinton, Okla., where they attended the graduation exercises of their son Mark, who was commissioned an ensign in the U. S Navy air corps. Mrs. Clara B.
