Show NATIVE OF CITY RETIRED FROM RAILROAD WORK Frank Owen Haymond, native of Springville, who is reported to be responsible for density of traffic traf-fic greater than that of any other railroad, long or short, in the world, retired on Tuesday as vice-president vice-president and general manager of the Bingham and Garfield railroad, rail-road, carrier of Utah Copper Co. ore from Bingham to the Arthur and Magna concentrators. Mr. Haymond, whose father was the late Amasa L. Haymond, was ; born here and taught school for a time before entering the service of the Rio Grande Western railroad rail-road in 1897. Since that time, he has steadily progresed in positions posi-tions with that railroad and later, with that one from which he retired. re-tired. Upon his retirement, . D. C. Jackling, founder of both the copper cop-per company and the B & G in 1908, commented upon the diligence dili-gence of Mr. Haymond and termed term-ed him a master operator. The Haymonds plan to remain in Utah after his retirement. |
