Show 'ilstive of Mapleton Dies In Ariz.; funeral in Idaho - L. B. Whiting, 70, resident of Idaho since 1908, died Tuesday of last week in a Mesa, Ariz., hospital hos-pital following a stroke. He was : hospitalized Feb. 8 after a month's illness. He had gone with Mrs. Whiting early in December to spend the remainder of the winter in Arizona. Mr. Whiting was born Oct. 1, 1878, at Mapleton. He married Pearl Johnson in Salt Lake Temple, Tem-ple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter - day Saints, in 1907. In 1908 they settled in the Blackfoot area and engaged in farming. Mr. Whiting Whit-ing spent nine years in the Lost River country near Leslie and while there was bishop of the Ballard L D S ward until he was affiliated with the Leslie ward. In Blackfoot they resided at 159 S. Fisher and were members of the Blackfoot Second L D S ward. Surviving besides the widow are eight sons and daughters: Mrs. Othea Mecham, Mrs. Bernice Mur-dock, Mur-dock, Jesse Whiting and Mrs. Anna An-na Mae Robinson, Blackfoot; Lutie B. and Roy N. Whiting, Aberdeen; Mrs. Mozell Hodson, Firth, and Edna Young, Pingree; 16 grandchildren grand-children and five brothers and sisters: Clarence Whiting, St. George, Utah; Randall Whiting, Ogden; Mrs. Edna Mills, Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., Mrs. Blanche Hill, Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Millie Lee-master, Lee-master, Huntington, Utah. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at Blackfoot, Idaho, and interment was in the Grove-land Grove-land cemetery. |
