Plays Big Part ; In Sheep Rescue Two biff construction companies one from Springville, were giv-"1 giv-"1 en credit by a prominent shcep-n shcep-n man of this vicinity this week for I' saving thousands of sheep mar-U mar-U ooncd on winter ranges west of Delta without food. In addition to the sheep herds, the companies undoubtedly saved a number of human lives by feeding, feed-ing, housing and clearing the highway high-way for stranded motorists. The two companies, Reynolds Ely Construction Company of Springville, which employs a number num-ber of Springville men, and the Olaf Nelson Co. of Logan, used six bulldozers and two road patrols pat-rols to keep the road and lanes in-- in-- to the sheep feeding areas open, despite record breaking snow storms and blizzards. The construction firms were 1 building a new east-west highway 70 miles west of Delta on a joint M ' contract when the storms struck. t There were approximately 90,000 S head of sheep in the area and ex- cept for the fine work of the con- 0 struction companies and their V crews, a big percent of the herds !J would have perished, sheepmen U The construction crews were in v the center of the drifted area and 1 did work which state crews could !l not cope with.
