Show PEACH CROP WILL BE LARGER THIS YEAR THAN LAST Shipment of peaches from Utah county is expected to get underway under-way in a few days, Elmer Taylor, Payson, district agricultural inspector, in-spector, said today. Federal agricultural inspectors estimate that 160 carloads of peaches have been shipped from the state to date according to Mr. Taylor. He added that these peaches have been harvested from Utah's Dixie and the Moab district. dis-trict. Mr. Taylor said the peach crop in the county is "lots better" than last year's crop. He estimated that between 350 and 400 cars will be shipped from the county this year compared with 300 cars shipped last year. Just how much labor will be needed to harvest the peach, crop as well as other farm crops has not been determined as yet, Mr. Taylor said. He said farm leaders were working on that problem now. "However, we probably will be able to use all the harvest labor we can get," he added. |
