Show f HOME SHORTAGE EXPECTED TO GET EVEN WORSE It is doubted in the buildinsr in- dusry that as many as 400,000 dwellings will be completed this year. Yet the release of millions of additional men from the armed services and the large number of new marriages will give rise to an additional demand for perhaps two million homes. The shortage is thus bound to get worse from month to month. The Administration is fully aware of the gravity of the housing hous-ing situation and the ' need for drastic action. The President, in his message to Congress, admitted that his proposal to impose ceilings ceil-ings upon the' prices of homes would be a mere stop-gap measure thing being done to get produc-and produc-and that "production is the only fully effective answer."
