Show . Mr. and Mrs. E. L Smith of Tooele visited friends in Springville Spring-ville Friday, stopping at the home of Mr and Mrs. John Blanchard. They came especially to see their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty B. Smith, who underwent an operation opera-tion for appendicitis at the Utah Valley hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. Chris M. Sorenson of Mapleton were made happy during the holidays when they received re-ceived a telephone call from their daughter, Nancy A. Sorenson, who is filling a mission in California and at present is in San Francisco.-Mr. Francisco.-Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson also received re-ceived holiday messages from their three sons in the service, SSgt. Areil E. Sorenson in Chili; Cpl. R. G. Soresneon in the South Pacific, and AS Fuan Sorenson in Catalina Island, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. J. Albert Giles recently returned from Price where they went . to attend the funeral of Mrs. Giles' cousin, Alfred Al-fred Carey, who was killed in an automobile accident in Wyoming. He was the district president of the United Mine Workers. They also visited a few days with relatives rela-tives and friends in Price and at Kennilworth. Lyle Hatch, warrant officer, and his wife and baby, have gone to Los Angeles, Calif., from where he expects to leave for overseas duty, after spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hatch, and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Snow, who recently moved to Springville from Wellington, were both confined con-fined to the Utah Valley hospital early this week. Mrs. Snow had been ill and confined to the hospital hospi-tal for some time and on Thursday, Thurs-day, Mr. Snow suffered a fractured frac-tured leg while working at Ogden and was taken to the same hospital. hospi-tal.
