Friends are happy to see Mr. and Mrs. John Roberson around again following a recent illness " which kept both of them pretty well at home for the past few weeks. v Late in December, Mr. and Mrs. Roberson went to visit their son, Ray Roberson and family fam-ily at Louisville, Ky., spending more than six weeks there, and upon their return both became ill. Mrs. Roberson was confined to the hospital for a short time. Richard Bird returned to his home at Mapleton early this week, following a few days confinement to the Provo hospital for treatment. treat-ment. Detroit. March 19, 1948 Three Springville boys are listed among youths from throughout the United States entered in the 1948 Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild competition competi-tion for designing and building of model automobiles. The Springville entrants " are: Charles V. Anderson, 1001 N. Main; George L. Anderson, 70 E. Fourth South St., and Jim B. Cranmer, 392 Brookside Drive. The Craftsman's Guild Is offering offer-ing a total of $65,000 in awards, including eight university scholarships, scholar-ships, to the boys who design and build the best model cars this year. Entrants are between the ages of 12 and 20, and are divided into junior and senior divisions. The Springville entrants will compete first for the 14 state awards offered of-fered in Utah. The top junior and senior winners then will vie with other boys from neighboring states for regional honors, and 40 regional region-al winners will receive free trips to the national Guild convention to compete for one of the eight university uni-versity scholarships. Deadline for shipment of models is July 1. Mrs. Norris Binks of Mapleton was in Salt Lake City the past week to attend the wedding parties par-ties for her niece, Miss Barbara Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Erickson of Murray, who was married on Thursday at her sorority house at the "U." She also attended the wedding of her nephew, Glen Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Erickson of Salt Salt Lake City who was married on Friday evening. |
