The following letter was received re-ceived this week from Kuel K. Ashcraft, missionary, telling of his appreciation of his home town, and we believe friends of Elder Ashcraft will enjoy hearing from him, via the Herald. His letter follows: 529 Central Ave., ' Charleston, W. Va. To the Springville Herald: I would like to express a few words of appreciation to you for vour thoughtfulness in sending iree of charge the Springville paper pa-per to the missionaries who are, out in the world in the service of t the Lord, and to the servicemen wherever they are serving their, country. I I say, as others have said, it has truly been a treat. I enjoyed re- . ceiving the paper when I was over- j seas in the armed services, and I'm enjoying it a great deal here while I'm on my mission. I'm always proud to tell others, j wherever I go, that I am from , Springville. It has always been a fine town and I feel that it has a great future because of its many outstanding features. The yearly Art Collection from j the best artists from all over the world cannot help but attract the eyes of people outside of Springville. Spring-ville. It shows a spirit of refinement refine-ment and culture, and is an influence influ-ence upon others. They take this city into consideration when deciding de-ciding where to live. Besides this are many other features. fea-tures. The new additions to the high school to insure a better education edu-cation and the fine gymnasium are attractions. Springville's closeness to the great university, the B. Y. U., is also in its favor. It doesn't take a prophet to foretell that Springville has a great future. I'm- proud of Springville and I know that the people of Springville : are proud of it. I am laboring in the East Cen- i tral States mission the mission where Brother William T.- Tew va J mission president just a few, years ago. He made a great im-j pression on many people and many j remember Springville when they' think of him. My time is slipping along very , rapidly. Three-fourths of my time ' has gone already. Once more I say thanks for! sending us this weekly news about our friends and loved ones : at home. We do appreciate it. i As the town has grown, so has ' the Springville paper. It is truly j a fine newspaper, with interest for one and all. Best wishes for your continued success, I remain, A Springville Booster. RUEL R. ASHCRAFT. |
