Show Some Disagree With Plan Of Mrs. Meyer We do not agree with Mrs. Meyer, Mey-er, who, after outling her program to conserve human resources, says that "these things must come about, not as relief but as a matter mat-ter of right." While there is a certain cer-tain amount of assistance that the more fortunate should extend to the less fortunate, it would be a mistake to persuade every individual individ-ual in the United States that he, or she, is " entitled to economic quality on the basis of "right." Up to a certain point, dependent depend-ent upon resources and conditions it is wise for governments to attempt at-tempt to equalize opportunity and to give every citizen a full chance in life. This cannot guarantee absolute ab-solute equality in any phase of human living, and, contrary to many enthusiasts, the famous Constitution of the United States does not envision such a result. |
