FLIER GETS HIS COMMISSION FROM R. C. A. F. Keith Mendenhall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seymour L. Mendenhall, has received his commission as second lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Ca-nadian Air Force. Word of his advancement was received shortly after his arrival in Springville for a short visit before leaving for overseas duty. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F. October Octo-ber 1, 1941, and was on his way to Canada at the time of the attack at-tack of Pearl Harbor. After he was sworn into the service he was sent to a station at Toronto, Can., for preliminary training. Later he trained at Victoriaville, Ontario, Can., at Camp de Madeline, Quebec, Que-bec, and at Exter, Ontario, receiving receiv-ing his wings at the latter training station. He is now a full-fledged bomber pilot and expects to be stationed at Halifax, Nova Scotia, until time for embarkation. A graduate of the Springville high school, he is a former student of the University of Utah, having attended college nearly two years before enlisting in the air force. |
