Show CAPTAIN VISITS FRIENDS HERE Capt. Eldon Richardson, a former for-mer resident of this city, visited relatives and friends in Spring-, ville Wednesday prior to an assignment assign-ment which will take him overseas. over-seas. Captain Richardson, with the Manufacturers Represent a t i v e s Corps of the U. S. army, is at the present time first pilot on a B-17 bomber accompanying a bombing group to the Atlantic theater of operations. He received flying instruction at Pensacola, Fla., and secured his wings and commission in 1937. More recently he was employed at the Remington plant in Salt Lake City. He had completed his thesis for a Master's degree from the University of Southern California on electromics and it was of such high quality that the government requested him to transfer to the Manufacturers Represen t a t i v e Corps. In this capacity he has been assigned to accompany a group to the battlefield to make observation of equipment under actual battle conditions. Mr. Richardson was secretary of the Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce and assisted with the organization of the local club. Mrs. Richardson is the former Jeanne Neill, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Neill of Salt Lake City, formerly of Springville, who resides re-sides at Salt Lake City. |
