VSfig The 2,000,000th visitor to set foot on Treasure Island, Mr. Henry G. More than half a million people have already inspected the horse-drawn vehicles and the famous early vintage automobiles in the "Drama of Transportation" at the Ford Building Build-ing on the Island, according to an estimate made by Ford exhibit manager Clem Powell, based on a Ross survey. The vehicle is one of twelve "originals" in the group. At right is Uncle Jimmy Hawkins, former vaudeville star and now associated with comedian Fred Allen. Uncle! Jimmy is re-living the well-known act in which be toured the circuit with an old Ford. The model here is a 1908 Ford Model N, one of seven examples of Ford progress in the group of famous cars at the Treasure Island Exhibit. |
