Show MERLENE TEW GETS APPOINTMENT IN WASHINGTON, D.C. Miss Merlene Tew, former foods teacher at the Springville high school, has received a civil service appointment as a student dietitian at the Walter Reed General hospital hospi-tal in Washington, D. C. The appointment is for one year and provides an opportunity to study with some of the foremost nutritionists and physicians. Upon graduation, a certificate is presented and the appointee is eligible to be placed in any of the army hospitals or to serve in any field of dietetics. Miss Tew will leave Friday night for Washington. She was entertained in Salt Lake City at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harold Hutchinson and at the Coon Chicken Inn, also at a canyon party recently in American Fork canyon. This evening she will be guest of honor at a party given by the Paranada club, of which she is a member. |
