NEW CULTURAL ARTS ( LIB ORGANIZED Under the sponsorship of the Springville Federated Home Culture Cult-ure Club, a Junior club to be known as the Cultural Arts club, was organized at a meeting held at the home of Mary Huntington, Wednesday night. Mrs. D. B. Welch, president of the Home Culture club conducted the meeting, and during the evening even-ing a constitution and by-laws were drawn up and adopted. Officers were elected as follows: President, Delia Baxter, Vice-president, Vice-president, Ida Packard; Secretary-treasurer, Naomi Pierce; Program committee chairman, Ituth Olsen. Luncheon was served to the following fol-lowing members, Clara Harmer, Beth Andersan, Theora Peterson, In observance of the thirtieth anniversary of the organization of the First district of the Utah Federation of Women's clubs, a meeting and luncheon Is scheduled sched-uled to be held at the Fourth ward chapel in Springville Saturday Satur-day March 30. . The first district meeting was held at Springville thirty wears ago and at that time a constitution constitut-ion and by-laws were drafted and the first district officers elected. The first regular -session of the first district which was as the name implies the first organized in the state, was held May 11, 1910, at the Presbyterian chapel in Springville. Mrs. Harold Christensen will be in charge of the luncheon on Saturday Sat-urday which will honor the past president of the district. Regular sessions of the district are scheduled sched-uled at 10 a.m., and 2 p.m., at the "ward chapel. The committee in charge of general arrangements includes Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson, Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Finley, and Mrs. D. B. Welch. At the noon luncheon the following fol-lowing past presidents "will be honored, Mrs. J. W. Aird, Provo; Mrs. Irene Jensen, Springville; Mrs. Ida Calloway, Provo; Mrs. Emma Wherritt, Heber City; Mrs. Cotter, Lehi; Miss Sophia Packard, Pack-ard, Springville; Mrs. C. E. Maw, Provo; Mrs. W. T. Hasler, Provo; Mrs. B1. F. Jensen, Payson; Mrs. William Chipman, American Fork; Mrs. Sterling Ercanbrack, and the late Rose Y. Stewart who was the tenth president of the district. The constitution and by-laws art ball which will be held Friday April 5 in the new gymnasium. All proceeds for the annual affair af-fair are to go to the art. The high school student council is in charge of general arrangements. THESPIANS MEET THURSDAY IN LITTLE THEATRE Thespians, high school national nation-al dramatic organization met Thursday night in the Little Theatre with Miss Beruiece Park faculty director and president Arnold Barney in charge. A short busines meeting preceded pre-ceded the entertainment at which plans for the Thespian formal were1 discussed and also plans were formulated for the Thespians to attend the production of "Stage Door" at Kingsbury hall in Salt Lake. Grant Clyde, a Thespian alumnus will have one of the feature roles in the play. During the evening games were played following which refreshments refresh-ments were served. DENNISON-DENTON WEDDING IN NEW YORK OF INTEREST TO FRIENDS HERE Of interest to Springville friends is the announcement of the mar-.riage mar-.riage of Miss Marion Denton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Marvin Denton of Oneaiita, Alabama, to Hugh Dennison, son of Mrs. Minnie Min-nie Dennison, and formerly of Springville. The marriage took place at 2 p. m. Sunday, March 3, in Thorn-wood, Thorn-wood, New York, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Lyons. The rites were beautiful and the home was decorated appropriately for the -lovely wedding. Following the wedding a reception recep-tion was held in honor of the newlyweds. Shumway, so.n of Mr-, and Mrs. Bradford Shumway of Vineyard, was announced this week. The marriage -will take place April 3 in the Salt Lake temple. The young couple will make their home in Grand Junction, Colorado, Colo-rado, after April 8, where Mr. Shunncay is employed. BOOK OF MORMON' CLUB ENTERTAINED SUNDAY Completing their observance of Easter Sunday, members of the Book of Mormon club met Sunday evening after sacrament meeting at the home of Joseph Olsen. The regular discussion took place under the leadership of the host with reading at intervals. The luncheon was carried out according to the Easter motif and was served to approximately fifteen.
