Show FOOD FOR THOUGHT "Do you believe in luck? questioned ques-tioned one of the Chief Petty Officer's Of-ficer's wards. "Do I believe in luck? retorted the chief. "I should say I do. Luck is a wonderful thing. I've watcher the careers of a lot of lucky men in the Navy. You see, the lucky fellow reaches out and grabs the opportunities, while the others stand by and doi't know it's there. He thinks a little keener, little longer. He does things he's not told to do. He gives the service ser-vice the best that's in him. He keeps his head cool, his feet warm He works a little harder and a and his mind busy. He plans his work ahead and then sticks to his plan. He talks and acts like a winner. And then luck steps in and does all the rest." |
