Show NEW SKI SITE BECOMING SPORTS CENTER Fast becoming one of the most popular skiing sites in the west, the new Hobble Creek Canyon' ski site has been the scene of much action during the past week. On Sunday Timpanogos Ski club members enjoyed a day's frolic at the new site. It was the first club skiing the group had done at the new site since the CCC camp under the direction of the forest service, cleared the area for winter sports. In addition to the Timpanogos club, it is estimated that approximately approx-imately two. hundred spectators and participants enjoyed the winter win-ter sports on Sunday alone. The snow is reported to be excellent ex-cellent for skiing, and to further add to the enjoyment of ski fans, Mr. A. I. Daniels had his new ski lift in operation on Sunday afternoon. after-noon. On January 2 8 the. Timpanagos Ski club plan to hold their second annual ski carnival at the new Hobble Creek ski site, at which time from one to two thousand spectators are expected to watch the winter sports. Skiers from all parts of the state are expected to enter the competitive events. The carnival will be under the direction of Reed Biddulph and Ralph Passey of Provo. Mr. George Geo-rge Wilson and Dr. Reed C. Petty of this city who belong to the Ski club both express the opinion that the Ski club will be able to take care of the large crowd expected at the carnival. |
