Show CITY SOFTBALL TOURNEY BEGINS TUESDAY The softball season will officially offi-cially close here after the city tournament, starting next Tuesday, Tues-day, August 27, is played. The tournament will be a double-elimination double-elimination contest, with the Industrial In-dustrial league teams battling it out for the championship. The Industrial league schedule has now been completed and all make-up games must be played before the tournament begins Tuesday. AVERETT ON TOP . . . Averett Coal won top honors in the Industrial league, with the Jaycees a close second. Following is the Industrial league standings for all games played to date: Won Lost Pet. Garage 4 14 .223 Close and exciting games completed com-pleted the league's schedule playr ed here last week. The Kolob vs. Dupler Fur and the All-Stars vs. the Shamrock Footprinters games were two of the most exciting and thrill-packed contests played this year. Much to the delight of the Springville boosters, the Kolob Girls won over Dupler 3 to 2. The All-Stars also gave the fast Shamrock team a fight, winning over the latter 3 to 2.
