Show . . Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Beardall and family, who have made their home in Portland, Ore., the past few months, have returned to Springville. Lt. Joseph L. Pace, flight surgeon sur-geon now in the Hawaiian Islands, recently went by plane from his base to the big island of Hawaii and spent an hour with his brother-in-law, Grant Clyde, a mission, ary on the islands, according to word received by relatives here. Dr. and Mrs. Harold Lee Snow and three daughters, of Rolling Hill, Calif., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Ostlund over the wek-end. Mrs. Snow, who is a daughter of Mr. Ostlund, and Dr. Snow, a bishop of the L. D. S. ward at Rolling Hill, also attended the general conference in Salt Lake City during their stay in Utah. V Mr. and Mrs. Owen Test visited in Salt Lake City over the week- end. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Curtis have been visiting relatives and friends in California. Frank Sanford of Richfield, Ida. visited the past week with his sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. A. O. Thorn, and Mrs. Ted Martindale and families, and with other relatives and friends in Springville. Mrs. Earl Child is spending a few weeks with her husband who is stationed with the U. S. Navy at Tacoma, Wash. Dwain Spafford of Inglewood, Calif., spent the past two weeks in Springville. He came on account of the serious illness of his father, A. H. Spafford. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peirce visited vis-ited relatives and friends here the past week. Mrs. Peirce has been with her husband who has been stationed at Camp Carson, Colo. Hannah Marie Billings, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Billings, Bill-ings, has qualified as a first-aid instructor in the Red Cross, completing com-pleting the work at Snow College at Ephraim, and being one of seven sev-en to complete the work. The Rev. Elias Jones and Mrs. Jones are leaving today for a two-weeks' two-weeks' vacation in Los Angeles, Calif. Rev. Jones is the pastor of the local Presbyterian Community church, with residence in Payson. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kindred spent the past weekend at Tooele as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Berne Kindred. a Mrs. Clara Clark has returned to her home here after spending the winter with relatives and friends in California. She was accompanied ac-companied home by her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Brown, who has also spent two weeks with relatives in California. They visited with Mrs. Merrel Young and family at Venice, Ven-ice, and with Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Thompson at Hollywood. Mrs. Evan A. Whitesides, the former Erma Patrick, left Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon to join her husband hus-band stationed at Camp Crowder, Mo. |
