Show l i Young Couple Honored at Beautiful Wedding Reception In Fourth Ward j B'efore a mantle centered with regal lillies and with white tapers in gold candelabra at either end, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Child and other members of the bridal party received re-ceived approximately 350 guests at a reception held Friday night in the Fourth ward. The couple were married Wednesday, Wed-nesday, March 5, in the Salt Lake temple, with President Stephen L. Chipman officiating. The lovely young bride wore a beautiful model of white satin brocade en train with a sweetheart sweet-heart neckline. A veil of bride's illusion was caught to her head with a tiara of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and Eas'-ter Eas'-ter lillies. The maid of honor, Miss Ila Nan Clyde, wore peach net and carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and old lace. The two bridesmaids, brides-maids, the Misses Helen Nelson and Anne Adamson, wore turquoise tur-quoise blue taffeta and net, respectively, res-pectively, and carried colonial bouquets of talisman roses, deep blush pink roses, and old lace. Little Miss Marian Bird, flower flow-er girl, wore pink satin and net trimmed in blue and carried a colonial bouquet of pink and blue sweet peas. Mrs. T. E. Child and Mrs. Ed Johnson, mothers of the young couple, both chose black velvet gowns' and wore corsages of white gardenias. Others in the receiving line were the ,frest man, Leslie Bear- t- dall, and Robert Burt and Gene Bird, ushers. As the receiving line broke up, a beautiful wedding march took place and was followed by a program, pro-gram, with Ralph Childs, brother of the groom, acting as master of ceremonies. Program numbers were a vocal solo, Anne Adamson; piano solo, Melba Child; accordion solo, Louise Lou-ise Clyde; vocal duet, Virginia and Genevieve Bird. Dancing concluded con-cluded the 'evening's entertainment. entertain-ment. In the dining room, the long table was covered with a gorgeous lace cloth and held a centerpiece of daffodils, iris, and snapdragons snapdra-gons with vari-colored tapers in crystal' candelabra at either end. Mrs. Andrew Peterson was in charge of the serving, with Mrs. Lucille Booke, Mary Louise Win-gate, Win-gate, Florence Brammall, and Mrs. Norma Snow pouring. Others who served were Berniece Chader, Carolee Hone, Carol Clyde, and Shirley Peterson. Mrs. Glen Davis and Leona Peterson Pe-terson were in charge of the gift room, and they were assisted by Mrs. W. W. Hone and Maurine Child. Others who received gifts were Melba Child, Elizabeth Walker, Dickie Huntington, Norma Nor-ma Rae Ostlund, and Jane Cher-rington. Cher-rington. The various rooms were beautifully beau-tifully decorated with palms, potted pot-ted plants, and pussy willows. The young couple will make their home in Ogden. |
