Show VISITORS Here and There Mrs. Shirl Poulson and children, Shirlene and Douglas, visited with friends and relatives at Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant last week-end. Mrs. Poulson's sister, Miss JoEll Meyrick, returned return-ed to Springville with them for a few weeks' visit. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Mecham of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Springville, were visitors here during the past week. They came especially to attend the wedding of Mr. Mecham's brother, Darrell, at Wallsburg, Utah. Miss Shirley Fullmer of Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., has been visiting with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. -Ralph Fullmer. Miss Fullmer is employed in a California telegraph tele-graph office. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and their son, Leo, have just returned home from a visit to California, where they were guests of their sons and daughters. Mrs. Laura Mendeles and children child-ren of Magna, have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fullmer during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith of California are visiting a few days with Mrs. Smith,s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shepherd. Mrs. Verl H. Meyrick of Duchesne, Du-chesne, is visiting this week at the home of Mrs. Shirl Poulson. Mrs. Maxine Shepherd of Thistle This-tle and her son, Allan, have gone to Los Angeles, where they will visit relatives and friends for a few weeks. DeVere, Verl, and Woodrow Weight visited over the week-end at Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Kimbal Larsen and daughter, Karen, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Bawden of Salt Lake City, visited three days last week with friends and relatives rela-tives in Gunnison, Salina, and Richfield. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Laney, Mrs. Lamar Weight, and Lucille Walker, have gone to Los Angeles. They plan to visit at San Luis Obispp, where two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Laney, Theon and Russel, are in training with the National Guard. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stevens visited with relatives and friends in Springville over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ockey of Price, were visitors Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Ostler. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Martindale of Ogden, spent the week-end visiting with Mrs. Jack Curtis, who returned return-ed to her home Sunday following an appendectomy at the Payson hospital. The Martindales also spent some time at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Merritt and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Martindale, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Olsen left Thursday morning for California to spend the summer. They will visit several days with their sons, Joseph and Matt, who are with the National Guard at San Luis Obispo. . Miss Edna Kennedy spent the past week with friends at Salina, returning to her home here Thursday. Thurs-day. Mrs. Nita C. Verhaaren and little lit-tle daughter, Joy, of Salt Lake City, were guests of Mrs. Wells Crandall during the past week. Mrs. Wells Crandall left Monday for a visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Owen B. Wright, at Hurricane. Mrs. Crandall Cran-dall went especially to be with Mrs. Wright when she undergoes a serious operation in the Cedar City hospital in the near future. Naomi Peirce, Marjorie Clark, Pat Taylor, John Russell, and Bill Averett have just returned from a vacation trip in California, where they visited in Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, and other places of interest. Arvid Jaderholm, Morris Reynolds, Rey-nolds, and Albert Olsen of Santa Monica,, California, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Oakley Oak-ley Saturday night. Mr. Jaderholm and Mr. Reynolds are former Springville residents and all of the men are employed at the Douglas Aircraft factory. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fullmer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Oakley and family visited Othell Bird at the East Portal in Strawberry Straw-berry valley Monday. Mrs. Harry Huber of Huntington Hunting-ton Park, California, is a visitor this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Harrison. Abe Jenkins and son, Dick, of Long Beach, are visiting friends and relatives in Springville this week. Miss Virginia Bird is vacationing vacation-ing this week in California. She plans to visit her brothers, Robert, in Los Angeles, and Norman, in San Luis Obispo, where he is training train-ing with the National Guard. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Perry of Ruth, Nevada, visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Child. Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Strong, Mrs. Jay Rideout, and Mrs. Evelyn Walker, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Best Sunday, coming com-ing especially for Mrs. Best's birthday. |
